George W. Bush was elected to the office of President after a highly contested race between him and Democrat
Albert Gore. Prior to his current office, Bush served as Governor of Texas for six years. During his term, Bush
has made changes to the areas of education, medicare, and the tax system.
However, his most pivotal point in office on the morning of September 11, 2001, when terrorists flew planes into
the World Trade Center Towers, Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field. Bush rallied the nation and since then has been
relentlessly fighting terrorism that unfortunately emcompasses the globe.
George Bush is currently serving his second term which ends in two years.
